Questions supporters ask
Can I register on their behalf?
No. You can help them fill in the form, but the details and the agreement have to come from them. If they would rather not use a form, they can call or email us instead, with as little as a sentence.
Can I come to conversations with them?
Yes, if they would like you there. Mention it when you or they get in touch, and we will plan the conversation around it.
Will you tell me how it is going?
Only if they agree. We will ask them what, if anything, they are happy for us to share with you.
They do not have a diagnosis. Can you still help?
Yes. Nobody needs a diagnosis to work with us. If they know how they work and what gets in the way, that is what we need.
What does it cost them?
Nothing. Employers pay us.
I am their job coach or support worker. Is anything different?
We work with you in the same way we work with the person you support, as long as they have told us they are happy for you to act for them.
What if they are not ready yet?
There is no rush. Send them the For candidates page and let them read it in their own time. They can register, call or email us whenever they are ready.
Can I get in touch before they do?
Yes, to ask how we work. We can talk to you about the process from start to finish, what a first conversation involves, and the kinds of adjustments we ask employers to make. To register, we need to hear from them.
Will you tell me if they have registered?
Not without their agreement. Whether they have registered, anything they have told us, the roles and employers we have discussed, and how an application is going stay between us and them. If they would like you involved, they can tell us, and we will agree with them what we share with you.
How can I help them get ready for a first conversation?
Help them think about what has helped at work or school before, and what got in the way. That is what the first conversation is about, so there is nothing else to prepare. They can bring you along, if they would like you there.
Can they change their answers, or ask you to delete their details?
Yes, at any time. They can change their answers, or ask us to delete what we hold about them. The Privacy page explains how.
