For candidates

Find work that works for you.

You should not have to mask your way through an interview to get a job you would be good at. Tell us what works and what does not, and we will handle the rest of it, including the awkward conversations.

Who this is for

However you came to know it about yourself.

  • Autistic
  • ADHD
  • Dyslexic
  • Dyspraxic
  • Dyscalculic
  • Tourette’s
  • More than one of these
  • Still working it out

Found out late? You are in good company.

A lot of the people we work with found out in their thirties, forties or later. Often after a child was assessed first, and a great deal of it suddenly made sense. Years of being told you were careless, or too much, or not living up to your potential, and then a word for it.

If that is you, nothing about this process assumes you have had decades to work out what helps. Most people have not. That is what the first conversation is for.

Waiting, or never assessed

You do not need a diagnosis to work with us. Assessment waits run to years, and plenty of people never go looking for one at all. If you know how you work and what gets in the way, that is what we need.

Why neuroaffirmative

Nobody needs fixing.

Neuroaffirmative means starting from the assumption that the way you think is not a problem to be managed. The barriers are in the process: the unwritten rules, the interview that tests small talk, the job ad that asks for things the job never needs. Those are the things we change.

Typical jobs

The kind of work we place people in.

Not vacancies, and not a limit. We place people across technology, financial services, the public sector, charities and social care, engineering and manufacturing, warehousing and logistics, and the creative industries. If the work you want is not here, tell us.

How it works

Three steps, and you set the pace.

  1. 1

    A conversation

We talk about what you are good at, what drains you, and what a good day at work looks like.

  2. 2

We find the fit, then prepare both sides

Roles that suit how you actually work, not a list of everything going. Then adjustments agreed, such as the questions in advance, and your potential future manager briefed, before you meet.

  3. 3

    We stay in touch

For as long as it is useful. Most problems show up around month three, not week one.

How it works, step by step

What you get

Things we do so you do not have to.

  • Tell us your adjustments once. With your OK, we pass them on, every time.
  • Interview questions shared in advance, where the employer agrees.
  • Your potential manager briefed before you meet, so the first conversation starts in the right place.
  • A straight account of the employer, so you can decide with the same information we have.
  • Someone to call in the first six months when something feels off.

What we ask of you

All we ask is what you already know.

Plenty of people can say what has gone wrong long before they can say what helps. That is a perfectly good place to start, and working out the rest is what we are for.

Questions people ask

What happens after I fill in the form?

Someone will read it properly and reply within two working days, by email unless you have said otherwise. Then we arrange a first conversation in whatever way suits you. You do not need to prepare anything. If our form is paused, email or call us instead, and the same applies.

What if I do not know what adjustments I need?

That is normal. Plenty of people can say what has gone wrong long before they can say what helps. We work it out with you, starting from what has made past jobs and interviews harder.

Can I bring someone with me to conversations?

Yes. You are welcome to bring a parent, partner, friend, job coach or support worker to any conversation with us. Mention it when you get in touch, and we will plan the conversation around it.
